Sometimes dreams do come true. In the city of Ybor in Tampa Bay, Florida we have one unfolding right before our eyes. There is a new weekly event on Thursdays for grown up lovers of house music who want to begin their pre weekend get down early.
On Thursday September 20th 2012 at The Amphitheatre in Ybor City we loved what we saw and heard. This is the beginning of a beautiful new weekly event with Ibiza style House, Progressive, Trance and Big Room EDM. Big name DJs from around the world are already being brought in for Ampnesia. The first will be ATB making his return to the Tampa Bay area 9-27-2012.
Ampnesia has four well known local legends as its residents. DJs Chris Craze, Santana, Mondo and Haf. They are true professionals that are well known in the Tampa Bay area for having exceptional skills and keeping dance floors packed all night long. None of them strangers to the Ampitheatre.
Thursday with these residents has the utmost potential to show club patrons what they been missing these last few years.
The same Top 40's are being played over and over in many of the clubs where the age range is 25-40, this weekly event is where the music will venture into areas we have not heard in a long while with an amazing European flair. We say change is good and we are excited to have a place to come out and dance to different sounds on a week night. A place in between the amazing underground scene and the extensively played Top 40. We have a middle and it is on Thursday nights at The Amphitheatre.
Many people were home preparing for Earth Dance on this night . Even so, The Amphitheater had a nice, intimate group of people, turn out. The vibe for this opening night was one of pure happiness. Tables were tastefully set up covered with white cloths and glowing candles. The talented dancers were dressed with class and very nice .
People have long awaited a night like this.
During our time in the booth, on the decks playing graciously, was the talented DJ Haf. Haf hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina and has been playing house music since 1993.
Haf showcased his skills in the famous Amphitheatre booth as he blended and extended beautiful music to the crowd. The kind of sounds that put smiles on faces and make you want to get up, dance and positively work off any negative vibes from your day. The kind of house music that brings you back again and again. The kind of house music that brings about positive change.
A place where grownups can dance the night away to the sounds of real house music on a Thursday night? Count us in.
