What Dodman House had the pleasure to witness with their eyes and ears, during their time watching Gareth Emery, he took no prisoners when he commanded the decks at Ampnesia. He went full force, taking the crowd on a great ride leaving no room for ill vibes! This was the best night we have attended so far at Ampnesia. Two standout moments for Dodman House, were Gareth tackling versions of DaRude's SandStorm and Da Hool's Love Parade. Gareth , hailing from England and being a part of the EDM scene since 2002 is a classically trained pianist. Although many label Gareth as Trance , he himself prefers not to be labeled, instead Gareth says he will spin a record of any genre as long as it is good. Gareth Emery to us, was better than good, he was great.

DJ Mondo

DJ Mondo, one of Ampnesia's fine residents and a Tampa legend, was glorious in his opening up for Gareth Emery ( We missed DJ Haf  who we hear was sensational),  to prepare them for Gareth Emery. Mondos take on old school and house is always fresh in the moment and the sound crisp and clean with just enough bass vibing through the body tone after tone. Mondo is a true professional and worked us up into a dancing frenzy the entire set with no room for any disapppointment!

We thank Mondo along with all of the Ampnesia residents, Haf, Craze and Santana for bringing a night to Ybor that we want to be a part of again and again.

We highly recommend you take time to check it out when traveling through Ybor City on a Thursday night as we believe this event is taking shape to be one of the most talked about in Tampa for 2012 and beyond.

At Dodman House we are on a quest to find the middle of the scene. A place where we can all meet centrally, on the same level without the hard push to the top, or the pull to the bottom.

 .

 Of course it all comes down to belief. If seeing is believing and reality is based upon perception, then we believe we are seeing the middle come to life with every new experience we are lucky enough to share at every event we attend. Our perception the night of ATBs return to Tampa is that the middle is taking shape at Ampnesia Thursdays in Ybor City, Tampa.

There was a great energy in the air as the door staff took our tickets and we entered the building. The pull of a soothing calm and vibrant energy said to us, from this moment on, everything is going to be alright. It washed over us as we quickly made our way up to VIP. 

We went directly to the standing balcony stage right. Upon meeting people we immediately heard rave reviews about the opening sets by Ampnesia Residents DJs, Paul Santana and Chris Craze. Hearing this about friends who just played for the crowd put an immediate smiles on our faces and set the tone for us as we found comfortable spots, pulled out our camera and started snapping away. We looked down at the stage and there was RuDee doing a great job finishing up his set and pumping up the super excited crowd for THE MAN, his friend ATB.  RuDee has had a solid 10 year working relationship with, ATB

ATB stepped on the stage and the wonderful energy we felt pulled everything towards the center and began to take shape. RuDee and ATB shared smiles, words, hugs and you could see how happy they were to be working the together. ATB commenced with his reign on the decks as the confetti exploded over the crowd on the famous Amp rotating dance floor. He played his beautiful melodies taking the ready and waiting crowd on the journey they came for.

ATB took us on a wonderful ride as he pushed his awesome positive energy out to the crowd. The floors were full of smiling faces and people dancing, some with their glowing lights. Many like us, had their arms around each other enjoying each moment as ATB reached out to touch all of us, from top to bottom and back to front!  Newcomers to EDM and the veterans came together to enjoy sounds from a man who has been moving dance floors and making the charts as a solo artist since 1999. 

The crisp sound had just the right amount of bass and the dazzling light show seemed perfect as tune after tune was dropped. We walked all around the venue and had fun running into old friends and making new ones. Always a good time when you walk through the crowd at a show where all you see is happy smiling people dancing their feet off!

ATB played new songs from his latest release Sunset Beach DJ Session 2 including a stand out favorite for us called " Never Give Up". He also sang at one point with his beautiful strong voice which we really enjoyed. Of course the classic crowd favorites were there, 9pm ( Till I Come Home) , As The Rush Comes and Ecstasy. His version of Cold Plays " Clocks" was hauntingly beautiful and Nirvana's " Smells Like Teen Spirit" had us jumping and down. He eased effortlessly between high energy tracks and the mellower tracks and that really made the difference in the beautiful energy he left with us and in us. When people leave an event understanding appreciation and everyone is smiling at one another you know it was a great time. As we left to get our car DJ Santana was taking the all smiles crowd for the close. A great way to end a perfect night.

Sometimes dreams do come true. In the city of Ybor in Tampa Bay, Florida we have one unfolding right before our eyes. There is a new weekly event on Thursdays for grown up lovers of house music who want to begin their pre weekend get down early.

On Thursday September 20th 2012 at The Amphitheatre in Ybor City we loved what we saw and heard. This is the beginning of a beautiful new weekly event with Ibiza style House, Progressive, Trance and Big Room EDM. Big name DJs from around the world are already being brought in for Ampnesia. The first will be ATB making his return to the Tampa Bay area 9-27-2012.

Ampnesia has four well known local legends as its residents. DJs Chris Craze, Santana, Mondo and Haf. They are true professionals that are well known in the Tampa Bay area for having exceptional skills and keeping dance floors packed all night long. None of them strangers to the Ampitheatre. 

Thursday with these residents has the utmost potential to show club patrons what they been missing these last few years. 

The same Top 40's are being played over and over in many of the clubs where the age range is 25-40, this weekly event is where the music will venture into areas we have not heard in a long while with an amazing European flair. We say change is good and we are excited to have a place to come out and dance to different sounds on a week night. A place in between the amazing underground scene and the extensively played Top 40. We have a middle and it is on Thursday nights at The Amphitheatre.

Many people were home preparing for Earth Dance on this night . Even so, The Amphitheater had a nice, intimate group of people, turn out. The vibe for this opening night was one of pure happiness. Tables were tastefully set up covered with white cloths and glowing candles. The talented dancers were dressed with class and very nice . 

People have long awaited a night like this.

During our time in the booth, on the decks playing graciously, was the talented DJ Haf. Haf hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina and has been playing house music since 1993. 

Haf showcased his skills in the famous Amphitheatre booth as he blended and extended beautiful music to the crowd. The kind of sounds that put smiles on faces and make you want to get up, dance and positively work off any negative vibes from your day. The kind of house music that brings you back again and again. The kind of house music that brings about positive change.

A place where grownups can dance the night away to the sounds of real house music on a Thursday night? Count us in.

Thoughts on God ?

Everyone has different needs that form their beliefs.  GOD as an individual in flowing robes and a beard or any other personification, that is just man trying to define the unknowable his conscious mind. GOD is all that is... Infinity. You are GOD, I am GOD we are all part of a greater whole, source or GOD. Only man’s vanity causes him to insist that one deity created by man is better than another or that anyone one religion or belief has the TRUTH ! 

Keep in mind that everyone is in a different place in the development of their soul. 

That being said .. faith is just that. We all have some version of it. Regardless of our beliefs we all return to the ocean of higher consciousness from whence we came. 

I had a near death experience where I met Jesus and Buddha … they told me .. we are created in GOD’s image in the sense that we are co-creators. We create with our thoughts and emotions. Quantum theory has proven this. 

People coming together to experience a higher connection is good. 
” When two or more come together in my name, I AM there”. 

When you experience your connection to “all that is”, the illusion of being separate from others disappears.You retain your individuality but realize your connection to that I AM ! (pointing at you) 

You are truly resurrected or reborn as it were. All the deities that mesh with the Christ Mythos are really the death of self and rebirth of the higher self … they represent the shamanic death pass …

When you release you ego and identity ... I am this, I believe that and you experience the connection to the greater whole of all that is .. you can no longer be who you were. You are reborn or resurrected.

Psychedelics are like and enema for your conscious awareness … sometimes there is just a lot of perceptual shit you need to release.

We are all connected

Not to long ago I finally accepted how my energy affects people and the responsibility that comes with it. I was in denial for a long time. I am here to resonate light and love and bring like minded souls together.. SO ARE YOU !

Some people resonate at a higher frequency .. but we are all beings of light, the same light. We are all connected and separation is just an illusion. 

People that are aware of this and conciously live it affect everyone they meet, creating insights and triggering things that were obscured. The forest for the trees syndrome. 

Then when it is time for you to shift into greater awareness or get a better insight into yourself and purpose/mission, another soul that lives in harmony crosses our path and soul recognition is made.. You look at them and it’s like .. Hey I know you ! 

It is a quickening and very enlightening. So you just breath it in and a few days later the way is shown. It had been quite awhile since that has happened to me even though it used to happen all the time. 

I experienced this myself last week and my mind is still on fire. The connections keep popping and the blockage is gone. I also have had profound insight on how to channel this frequency and my life purpose.

Neo-Tribalism

I love that the counter-culture of body modification has become socially acceptable.

It is unconsciously stimulating Neo-Tribalism by using the body as a canvas for artistic and individual expression. 

Where the family and clan have been sabotaged by the guiding forces of modern society it has re-emerged in an explosion of color and connection. The difference being that today’s individual chooses it’s tribe instead of being born into one.

A person practices/experiences body modification, ritual without ritual .. right of passage without ceremony, experiencing elation and elevation. That is the source of connection. 

This desire within the collective consciousness of human kind can not be stopped nor suppressed by those that enjoy the illusion of being in positions of power and control ..

Considering my self fortunate to meet one of House Music's most prolific Dj's and music producers, Cevin Fisher, I was quite pleased that he was so accessible, ego free, grounded and relaxed.

It was a privilege and a pleasure to interview Cevin. After talking to him it was obvious how he creates so many memorable tracks. It is because he truly loves and lives what he does. He is a permanent state of creative flow. After all the most memorable and moving creations always come from the heart.

Listening to his classic house tracks sweeps me up in a wave of euphoric nostalgia for those halcyon days while his latest releases instantly bring a smile to my face and make me want to dance all night.
